In 2017 Josie’s profile was further heightened by receiving the Litter Prevention Award, after her efforts to reduce litter to Port Phillip bay by 65% by working together with Woolworths to create a clean and safer environment, See editorial here
In 2018 Josie assisted as environmental leader of the 1st Toograrook Scout group, to see the children become the 2018 Photo Comp for Clean up Australia Day #CleanUpSnapItShareIt where the Scout group received 1st prize for their map of Australia made from litter

The mermaid is a known symbol world wide and is the perfect representative for the ocean. I’m really a Mermaid is designed around the local environment, including our local friends such as the Fur Seal, the Weedy Sea Dragon and the Common Dolphin or flowers like the Wondering Postman to name a few. Many people only see the ocean by the shore, enjoying it’s sand and safety, whilst the mermaid and her creatures experience the depths and the life of the ocean; that we have a responsibility to ensure their safety by the way we handle our rubbish a shore.
